Hello! I am currently a fourth year student in the concurrent Visual Arts and Education program at the University of Calgary. I am extremely studious and have maintained a 3.9 GPA in my university courses. When I graduate university I plan on becoming an elementary school teacher. I am passionate about working with students to help them develop learning skills that they can use to succeed throughout their education. I believe it is essential that students feel comfortable, confident and supported in their learning environments. I have experience working with elementary students as a volunteer through Calgary Reads Wee Read program. This program has taught me skills and methods of how to teach students literacy skills in a way that they find engaging and interesting. Additionally, through this program I was able to gain experience teaching to students who are English language learners. As an artist, I am able to think creatively to teach in ways that can uniquely suit a child’s needs. My teaching methods are also flexible to accommodate the learning styles of individual students. In my free time I enjoy reading, making art and hiking. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!
