Hey there! My name is Kiera and I am a second year Education student at the University of Alberta. I have a passion for teaching and always have, ever since I was in Preschool! Friends and classmates would gravitate towards me to ask questions about the material; this sparked my motivation to help others and make sure that they fully understood the subject matter. Seeing the ‘light’ go off in their head as they come to an understanding is what drives me to continue teaching others. My passion is helping students with English Language Arts, as I love reading different genres of books in my spare time. I am aware that each student is different in the way that they retain material. From being hands on, to repetitiveness, I am so excited to be able to learn what ways work for you! Although studies are important, I am also a member of a Chinese lion dance team! We perform all around Alberta, and I am so proud to be able to display my love for my Chinese culture. This committment allows me to gain experience teaching students, as I have the responsilibity of teaching our different routines and performances to new members! I have two brothers: one being 11 years younger, and the other 14 years younger than me. Because of them, I am able to assist them with their school work, as well as watching them grow as people! I look forward to helping you find that light switch in your head!
