Hi there! My name is Ayush Jha, and I am a second-year Honours Biomedical Science major at the University of Calgary's school of medicine. I have two years of math and science tutoring under my belt at the junior high/high school level, and am very passionate about making my students as successful as possible. My educational experiences in the IB programme and university thus far have made me very comfortable with the subject matter in math, english, physics, chemistry, and biology. Outside of school, I am a big fan of sports and exercise. I grew up playing on several teams including basketball, volleyball, track & field, and badminton, all of which helped me maintain a healthy balance with everything else that I had going on. I am also an avid reader, and love to challenge myself each summer with difficult hike trails that I have not tried yet, My past experience working with children includes basketball coaching at the Seton YMCA, basketball refereeing for the Calgary Minor Basketball Association, leading youth activities at the Bihar Association of Alberta's cultural events, and more. I love tutoring because of the impact it can have on a student's educational experience. I am all too familiar with the effect that one bad teacher can have on a child's outlook towards school; it can oftentimes be the difference between loving and hating a subject for years to come. By being an external source of knowledge for students, I hope to help them perform their best and to enjoy learning in the same way I do.
