Hello! My name is Carmen and I have a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta. I have been tutoring for three years with TutorTag and currently am a substitute teacher for Edmonton Public. I am comfortable teaching a wide variety of subjects as well as editing essays. I believe that students often disengage from homework when they are having difficulty completing the work and I want to make sure that all students feel confident in themselves and their abilities so they are able to do their best. I usually take the approach of asking students questions to guide them into finding an answer for themselves. When a student is in the classroom, or writing an exam, they will not always be able to ask a teacher and get the help they need. Learning the skills to be able to work through problems on their own is extremely important for their education careers as well as in life. I have Mondays and Fridays open every week for tutoring and am available other days as well but I do have a second job so those days change weekly so I am flexible with scheduling.
