FACTORING

1) Find the HCF (highest common factor) of - 4x^4 + 8x^3 + 24x^7 - 32x^5

= -4x^3(x - 2x^0 - 6x^4 + 8x^2)

--> check work and multiply it to be sure it multiplies back to your original equation!

= -4x^3(x - 2(1) - 6x^4 + 8x^2)

= - 4x^4 + 8x^3 + 24x^7 - 32x^5
