Generating a Strong Essay

 Has your English teacher told you that your essays are often off topic? Do you have problems condensing your writing? If so, I have a tip for you. 

Firstly I would like to state that essay planning is essential to success. I strongly suggest mapping out your paper before mowing forward with writing; however, if you're still finding issues   staying on topic, this little highlighting trick might help: 

After completing a portion of your essay go back and highlight everything that DIRECTLY relates to your thesis statement. If you find that less than 75% of your essay is highlighted, then you need to reevaluate your work. Though this trick is simple it is very effective in weeding out what is not important in your writing.
