Hey! I’m Emad, a student in UBC’s Bachelor of International Economics Program; meaning I enjoy drowning myself in math (multi-variable calculus, complex maths, and matrices), economics (micro, macro, and empirical) and a lot of writing. The reason being: I didn’t fully understand or appreciate what these subjects meant when I was younger, and the desire to explore the unknown led me to find an appropriate career path. Coincidentally, that’s also what many of the students I’ve taught or tutored in the past have given me praise for. I have allowed students to fathom material they never thought they’d like, and to exceed expectations in the relevant courses as well. Whether you’re having trouble with social sciences, mathematics, literature, or essay-writing, I can guarantee a much more profound understanding and execution of the content; and the reflection of this improved understanding in the student’s class performance. Coming from a soccer (football) family and being a Model UN veteran, my spare time revolves around reading the news and watching European League games with my community. This community has also allowed me to be multi-lingual. Fluency in French, English, and Farsi/Persian allows me to tutor in any of the above languages. My five plus years of tutoring have also permitted me to hone and implement teaching strategies that deliver convincing results. Lessons shall focus largely on interactions with the student and the delivery of examples or visualizations. Additionally, I am well-versed in British Columbia’s MoE curriculum, the IB diploma program, and that of many private schools in or around Vancouver.
