Hi there! My name is Kayla. I am currently a 3rd year English major at the Univesity of Calgary. As a student, I understand the struggles that come with being one. I come from a family where I have a younger brother and a handful of younger cousins, so coming from an older sister perspective, I understand the care and patience that needed to teach those that are younger. Teaching those around me gave me the ability to adapt my to kids instead of making them adapt. Through my own experience, I have found that people learn this differently and at different paces. From teaching through pictures to a discussing style of teaching, I make it a priority to find the best way to teach a child. I enjoy working with students very much, I always hold a positive attitude and a passion to assist and motivate struggling learners. Tutoring one on one gives the opportunity to learn at the student’s optimal pace. I believe that it is not only the knowledge that students gain through learning that's important but also the confidence they find within themselves by accomplishing difficult subjects. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, playing badminton, swimming, reading mystery novels and taking long walks with her dogs.
