Hi there! My name is Nicki, I'm a Saint Mary's University Graduate with a major in Linguistics. I believe the mechanics of communication are essential to understanding all subjects and how we approach them. After finishing my undergraduate degree I continued on to study the language and culture of American Sign Language. Learning ASL was one of the most fascinating things I have ever had the pleasure to be involved in, and helped me to understand my own native English language on a much deeper level. I have spent 2 years working with Deaf Adults who were proficient signers learning English as a second language. I must say, there was nothing more rewarding than finding the explanation that made everything click for my student. Every student I encountered was a new challenge, and a chance for me to diversify my methods. I love working with all age groups, and look forward to finding the best route to success for future tutees.
