A car accelerates from rest to a velocity of 3.0 m/s in a time, t.  If the car were to accelerate from rest at the same rate for a time of 4t then it's velocity would be __________________m/s.  Answer to two significant digits.

v=v0 +at where v0=0 m/S (at rest) and v = 3 m/s

therefore, a=3/t m/s2

Substituting our new information into that same formula gives us:

v= 0 m/S + (3/t m/s2)(4t s)

v= 12m/s
