Which of the following statements correctly describes the process of mitosis?
Select one:
a. Cytoplasm and its organelles are equally divided into each daughter cell.
b. DNA and cytoplasmic contents are equally divided into each daughter cell.
c. A complete set of homologous chromosomes are equally divided into each reproductive cell.
d. A complete set of homologous chromosomes are divided into two germ cells.

Which of the following statements correctly identifies the difference between plant and animal cell division?
Select one:
a. Both plant and animal cells undergo mitosis and cytokinesis, but they lack the interphase.
b. The cell walls of plants prevent the process of cytokinesis.
c. Plant cells lack centromeres, and they form a cell wall to produce two daughter cells.
d. Plants cells lack centrioles, and they form a cell plate during cytokinesis.

Which of the following correctly identifies the hormones that promote the cell cycle (growth, mitosis, and cytokinesis, respectively)?

Answered By Kiran D

Question 1: C and D can be eliminated as those answers involve germ/reproductive cells which do not undergo mitosis. Out of A and B, B is the correct answer as this is the the main purpose of mitosis - to ensure genetic content and cytoplasm go into new daughter cells.

Question 2: A and B can be eliminated immediately - we know that mitosis happens in both animals and plants. Centromeres are a part of eurkaryotic chromosomes, and thus plants have them too, so C can be eliminated. D is correct.

Question 3: B and D can be eliminated as those have to do more with reproduction and other functions and not necessarily cell growth. Between A and C, A is the better answer because hGH or human growth hormone is responsible for the growth of all cells in the body. The others also play a key role as well.

Question 4: I can't see the image so I can't answer this question!

Hope this helps!
