I am a professional, classically trained actor, with more than twenty years of theatre, film, television, and radio credits to my name. I am a writer, teacher, and a passionate lifelong learner. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary with a special focus on drama, dramatic literature, English, history, and dance. My specialties are in literature (I was specially trained in Shakespeare and heightened language), reading, writing, history, anatomy, communication and human behavior. I also have experience as a copywriter, editor, and proofreader. I use drama and humor to help illuminate difficult concepts and make learning fun! I also have special training in Linklater voice and speech, helping students develop confidence and a sense of identity finding their own true voice, stand up for themselves, overcome fears, shyness, and work through past traumas. I have more than twenty years of experience working with students of all ages. I regularly give individual coaching sessions, teach classes and workshops, developing my own curriculum. I spent twenty years in a troupe performing improvised 'twenty first century fairy tales' for hundreds of children every week with Me And My Shadow at Stage West for Kids, playing every princess, witch, and woodland creature imaginable - even a giant dancing rock! I am a fitness and nutrition enthusiast, avid gardener, and a passionate cook. I am friendlier than a puppy and also, I'm hilarious! I love movies, music, books, clothes, and comedy. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts undergraduate degree in Drama, Movement, and English from the University of Calgary. I have done graduate work at York University in Toronto, Ontario in Drama, Classical Literature, Teaching, Voice and Speech, and Anatomy. I have also taken post secondary classes in copy writing, editing, and proofreading. As a professional actor for the last twenty five years, I have gained an enormous amount of experience and understanding of communication and human behavior. Also, over the last twenty five plus years, I have taught elementary, high school, university level, and adult students, completely developing my own curriculum. I have coached individuals, and developed numerous workshops and classes for a variety of ages, experience levels, and sizes of groups.
